This term commonly used to indicate the time when the sun is in the middle, it is around 11.45 to 12.30 in different days of the year. During this time saying prayer is forbidden because this was the time of the worship of sun.

According to the established Sunnah of the Prophet (sws), the only forbidden times for prayer are sunrise and sunset.

Thanks brother Umer Querishi, I stand corrected. There are only two times during which saying prayer is forbidden, sunrise and sunset.
