What are the sources that lay down for us comprehensively the “means” that lead to a forbidden act by God?

Will aql/fitrat also be consulted as a source while establishing these “means?”

Is it not common sense to assume that if something which is not evil/forbidden its own, however, could lead to something forbidden should naturally be considered sadd e zaria and therefore be declared forbidden/haram.

Does/Should intention play a role here when God has repeatedly reminded us in His book that

    a) we are weak and forgetful

    b) nafs is always inclined on doing evil

    c) shaytaan
