  • Watching Movies With Spouse.

While watching movies when we are told to stay away from wrong things . We can get the idea to stay away from scenes which shows drinking alcohol, killing people, stealing and many other.

We are also told to stay away from inappropriate scenes. My question is We know that stealing, killing, and many other things are wrong in every way but romancing is not wrong when it is done with spouse.

So why should a married couple stay away from these scenes?. If also the movie doesn’t contain any scenes showing private parts. Also If they are married it won’t lead them to zina.It doesn’t matter movie shows the character married or not . If one want he/she can take the good things from the movie.

Will the preventive measure still apply?

Watching other woman and men in intimacy is obscenity in itself. It spoils purification of your gaze eyes, which is supposed to be confined to your spouse only.

Ok. But do you mean “Fawaish” by ” obscenity”?.

Now it’s creating confusion in my mind on the matter of “Fawaish”.

In one of the discussion I read watching porn doesn’t come in the fawaish category .

Porn is also an intimacy even on a larger scale.

Nowadays even advertisement and nomal movies also contain some types of intimacy .

So will someone be sinful for watching this?.

As long as someone knows he or she won’t get affected.

Watching porn is counted in Fawahish. Watching intimacy spoils your sense of purity of gaze. and of course it is sinful.

@Irfan76 according to you will one be sinful if he / she do not watch it willingly?.

Like kissing in public is normal in western countries. Also While watching movies there are some scenes which are inappropriate. Skipping the scenes are also not always possible due to various reasons. Sometimes the story line of a movie is connected and sometimes we don’t have the option to skip. Sometimes while matching movie characters kiss or hug each other in a joy of victory and a smile automatically comes on the audeince faces.

So one will still be sinful in such cases?

I think in the above mentioned discussion they agreed on makrooh (unlikeful act),but can’t we do qiyas on alcohol like alcohol is haraam because it messes and ruins your brain(ie it is intoxicated) and person becomes addicted to it. So it is totally haraam even a drop(like a drop doesn’t do anything but even that) as we get clarification in Hadith (jis ki kaseer miqdar nasha kre us ki qaleel miqdar bhi haraam ha)(the thing whose big amount intoxicates you, it’s small amount is also haraam),so doing qiyas on that in the case of porn?

And also everyone knows that these things like porn and masturbation etc ruins you physically and mentally also(if someone is interested he can read the researches like effect of porn on brain(like that dopamine thing)),and these things doesn’t tell a person that now you are being addicted to it,it happens automatically and sometimes unconsciously, so does Islam who wants total purification and best for you in this world and in the coming world allow that?

      Walaikum as salam

If something is not haram it doesn’t mean it is halal .

Neither I have said it’s allowed.

This is not the point of discussion.

All these and many more forms can be there, it is now the person to decide in every case what to do. the principle is clear.

Alright. So If the person thinks that he is not doing anything wrong he won’t be accountable right?.

I mean if a person act accordingly to his belief, deep understanding, so he will be judged accordingly.

Cause sometimes We also got to know the the literary works from a movie and also many other things. The judgement and understanding of a person will be considered. If he feels wrong he should stop there or if he finds deep meaning he can go ahead.

This is what I’ve understood .

Honesty and knowledge are the basis on which humans will be judged. In such matters the criterion, to ask your heart, after when the jurist have given their verdicts.

Yess. After having different verdicts now it’s not upto the personal decision of a human being of which one he’ll go for and how he act in every situation according to his personal judgement of right and wrong.
