But how would the prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم know what these people would do after he passed away? If the spread corruption or committed murder etc?

Itmam-e-Hujjat works both ways. Not only the rejecters are punished, but when a Prophet (specifically rasul) gains ascendancy, the shohadahs, Sabiqoon and Siddeqeen of Rasul’s time are also rewarded in this world. It is not something unusual if among those people were a few given glad tidings because of other extreme of itmam-e-Hujjat law because their judgement happened in this world.

Just like muanedeen, who were ordered to be killed no matter what (whether from jews or pagans), the other extreme is the sabiqoon, siddeqeen and shohadah of Rasul’s time, who were given glad tidings in this world of their success. Its not about that particular Hadith of ten Sahaba only, such verses can be found in Quran as well for the whole group of Sahabas where they are called Khair-e-ummat, given rank of Shahdah and many others as well.

Yes I know this- their reward in this world can be control of the land etc. but since they are still alive and human beings they can still change and such a prophecy would mean that the prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم had some God-like knowledge of who will go to Jannah. Also please see my previous reply again as that had some specific questions

It was a divine decision, therefore Prophet (sws) must’ve been given this knowledge.
