We’ve seen cricketers like Moeen Ali, hashim amla, and recently Usman khawaja move away from the scene whilst their team member celebrate victory with champagne, sparying it around. I was curious to know why exactly it isn’t allowed in islam( if he is not drinking or promoting it)

The actual prohibition is that of drinking. However, as humans we have sensitivities towards things that we don’t consider good, especially those that have been made haram by God. A celebration can be made in a number of different ways that are much more civil. Even if spraying champagne is not necessarily haram, it’s an ignorant act nevertheless that puts one in a vulnerable position where they might unintentionally consume some drops that might land on their mouths.
