The more a thing is appealing to Zina for a person the more sin it incurs.

According to my understanding something to come under category of fawahish..there must be direct involvement of another person like in sex chat…whereas watching porn does not involve person directly so can’t be termed haram…but it should be discouraged…what if a peson watching porn to safe himself from actual haram things which involves another person directly…so according to my understanding watching porn cannot be termed as minor sin..but it should be discouraged by religious scholar…please rectify me if my understanding is not correct

It’s true that such sins are considered minor, however, don’t let the minor label cause any confusion. In regards to sins minor only means that they could be forgiven by God if one is able to abstain from the major sins. However, once a person gets into these habits it’s rarely ever possible for abstain from the major sins.

@faisalharoon sir my question is how can porn be termed as minor sin even as compared to sex chat…as watching porn don’t include another person directly…and as we know something can come under Fawahish if another person is directly involved..like masturbation cannot be declared haram because it don’t involve another person directly

For example if my partner watches porn…I can’t say she is cheating on me…yeah I won’t like that part…but if she is having sex chat with another person…then definitely it will regard as cheating…how can we put sex chat and porn in same bracket

What if person watches porn to abstrain from actual haram things in which another person is directly involved..I am not encouraging watching porn…but thing is how can we put it under minor sin category..as something to be declared haram needs to come in 5 categories which javed ahmed ghamidi has explained..we can discourage it as touching hand of non mahram…but we know touching non mahram cannot be declared haram…it is only haram when touch is of wrong intentions…so shouldn’t porn must be come in that category…which is something which is discouraged by religious scholars but cannot be declared haram(minor sin)

Everything immoral is a sin. There are only two categories of sins: major and minor. If one is able to abstain from the major sins, as a reward his minor sins shall be forgiven by God (Quran 4:31). There’s no reason to compare the intensity of minor sins. They will be judged by God with complete justice with the concession of each situation.

It is not mathematics to count major and minor sins and then commit the minor sins. It is in fact the order of God whose denial with audacity becomes major sin. Sins under the influence of momentary burst of emotions is forgiveable when repented soon after the sin committed.
This is not a way to commit minor sins to avoid major sin. God has a different approach for us to adopt: avoid minor sins to avoid major sin. To play with minor sins pollute one’s purity of soul and mind ( Tazkiya) and that person can become a true servant of God as He desires.
