Is The Name Ananya Halal?
Salam,
Please some know the answer reply.
One Of my friend’s nane is Ananya. She is from India. Converted to muslim.
It seems her name meaning is unique. Which is Ahad in Arabic. And a name only for Allah. Its hard to change name.
Can Anyone do a little research on the name and say if its necessary to change it..

The only prohibition in naming people is that the names should not have any aspect of polytheism. Other names are all fine.

Brother, even some names of Allah is also haram to keep. Like Al Rahaman, Al Razzak etc…

Al-Rahman means “The most merciful” and of course according to common sense it’s only appropriate for God. This is not a matter of haram and halal. Islam doesn’t restrict us from naming any good names.

But Al Ahad also can be name of Allah only by scholars. Which means The unique. The meaning of her name is also unique.

There’s no problem with that. Unique can be unique amongst women in her city, women of her age group, women of her skills and talents, and a myriad of of others possibilities.
Here are a few names of sahaba with their meanings: Asim (protector), Ka’ab (high/respectful), Khalid (immortal), Malik (king), Ubay (one with high esteem). Prophet SAW didn’t object to any of these names.
