When the greatest knowledge for our success is the Qur’an which is the reason for our success in the hereafter, then how did other sciences come into the world and what is their purpose?

Other sciences are based upon our experience and observation. For example, natural sciences stem from our discoveries of laws in this universe.

When our real success is to succeed only in the hereafter, then what is the purpose of so much knowledge in this world. That is to say, a person could give his test by living a simple life. Bodybuilding is also a great knowledge in today’s world, so why did man succeed in this after a long time?

Of course hereafter is the ultimate goal, however, our test takes place in this world. On a high level the nature of this test is to live in this fascinating world and given the resources that each one of has been given, try to reach our maximum potential all the while submitting to the truth and rejecting the falsehood.

Does Islam tell us to acquire knowledge of this temporary world which can lead to distance from Islam?

Knowledge of this world doesn’t have to lead us away from Islam. We can gain the knowledge of this world concurrently with the knowledge of God’s message and still be good Muslims.
Islam doesn’t need to specifically tell us to gain the knowledge of this world. The core purpose of Islam is to make us aware that death is not the end of our lives. All of its guidance centers around that and helps us in avoiding such mistakes that might lead us to negative outcomes in our after lives. Within the framework given by Islam we’re free to enjoy this world as well as try to make our lives better.
