Can muslim women wear trousers, shirts, pants( in a modest way) as men also wear these and the prophet saw forbade men to wear women’s clothes and vice versa? I mean cross dressing is forbidden but the thing is nowadays a lot of clothes are worn by both the sexes , women also keep short hair like men and men also use elements of clothing generally used by women so is all of this permitted by sharia like women keeping short hair , wearing pants and men wearing kurtas etc.

This is the culture which decides what a man and a woman to wear as decent dresses. Culture changes but every culture does have some distinguishing marks for man and woman. If certain clothes are supposed to be wear by both genders, then both gender can wear them. but if they are different for different genders, they should follow the norms.
