  • If Islam Concerned With Hereafter Then Why Attribute Wordly Success To Allah

Posted by Shamir on March 18, 2022 at 9:48 am

Your position is that the Qur’an is related to the Hereafter and it has nothing to do with our world. Then why are our successes and failures in this world attributed to God?

Quran is to achieve success in the hereafter based on our belief and actions in this World. There is no guarantee that if you follow Allah’s commandments you will have a better life in this World or you will get rich. Perhaps the only guarantee is that you will have a content life.

The Qur’an was revealed by Allah Almighty for success in the Hereafter, so why is it attributed to God as much as man succeeds or fails in this world? Because Allah is concern with our hereafter So why should we call on God for success or blame for failure?

Brother Shamir, your question is not very clear to me. Perhaps if you give a couple of examples.

Utimate objective of religion is success of the hereafter and in order to achieve success, tazkiya is required. This Tazkiya includes Tazkiya of body, Tazkiya of Meal and Tazkiya of ethics (Please see: Discussion 64226 • Reply 64263).When one adopts Tazkiya or strives to achieve it, then it also shows its results in this world, through formation of human beings who are at epitome of ethics and who form a scoiety based on high ethical values and this in turn makes a better society. Therefore, Islam is not totally cut off from this world, whatever is required by Islam for success in the hereafter, it actually has an impact on this world as well, if people start following it (Please see: Discussion 62861 • Reply 62930).

As far as attribution of Success and Failure to Allah is concerned, it is extension of our belief in Allah, that everything is under his control and is happening with his ‘izn‘ (Please see: Discussion 66226 • Reply 66264)
