I know that this world is an examination Center and we are tested with both relief and pain but it is commonly observed that people who are happy in their lives don’t give much thought to the meaning of it or if there’s an afterlife but when someone goes through suffering and injustice then the demand for an afterlife arises in us.

I’m not sure if that general observation is correct. Every able mind who consciously contemplates upon this universe and their place within it must inevitably stumble upon questions like: what happens after death, is there an afterlife, etc.

Pain and suffering is the order of this universe. No person in the entire history of mankind, regardless of how accomplished, rich, or famous, has ever been able to escape this phenomenon. This phenomenon exists because a test cannot be conducted in an environment where permanently happy state can be achieved.

The real purpose of pain and suffering is not to bring one closer to God, however, at times it does serve as a reminder to those who are sincerely willing to contemplate and use their faculties of reason and rationality.
