Difference Between Musallah And Masjid
Assalamoalaikum,
How do we differentiate between “Musallah and Masjid”?
Do we differentiate on the basis of “presence of permanent imam” or is it “Friday congregational prayer” or is it “5 times Jamah prayers” or is it just the size”?
In abroad, sometimes it is more possible to pray at Musallah than find a far distant masjid. Is there a preference or just Jamat prayer is preferred whichever it is?
Can someone please share a link where Ustaz Javaid Sb has shared his point of view?

These two words, which may be adopted somewhere to tell apart Jamay mosque and small mosque. apart from that, one should say prayer in congregation in a mosque near to his place, whether it is a big one or small one, there is no difference of Sawab for big or small mosque. However for Friday prayer, one should go to big mosque. appointed or not appointed imam does not change the status of mosque.
