  • Women Who Are Not Able To Make Up Fasts Missed In Ramadan?

Posted by Haniya on March 28, 2022 at 10:12 am

Every month of Ramadan, a woman ends up losing about a week worth of fasts, due to menstruation cycle.

We are told that we must make up for these fasts, to keep on track.

However, we are not informed of the consequences of not making up these fasts, intentionally or unintentionally.

What would be the consequences for not making up for fasts?

The consequences would be the same for not fulfilling any obligatory ibadah i.e. missing farz Salah, not giving zakat due and the same goes for not completing farz fasts. The exact quantification of such consequences cannot be done as ibadah is a matter between God and the person, so ultimately it is Allah who will decide the nature and quantification of such consequences. But the consequences can be grave, so we Muslims should be mindful of that.
