  • What's Right Then Among So Many Interpretations Of Religion?

    Assalamualaikum

A general common person question, not any criticism on Ghamidi sahab. First thing that basic religion(common person’s religion) has we got through Sunnah through the transfer of whole Ummah?

Thr question is that from the time of Sahaba till now (and surely after also) different opinions on the same thing started to came, and then there became established schools of thought (Hanafi, Shafi, Maliki, Hanbli), and in that thoughts was there also evolution. So in all that, the religion who is saying itself the only true path, there has been many different interpretations like our purpose (Sufi, political etc), apostate killing, three divorces, reciting Fatiha behind Imam etc. These are everyday things. So for that only path we have standard (Quran) but not decisive opinions even for one person’s everyday things?

    There are three tings:

    Religion: its rituals and injunctions

Understanding of these rituals and injunctions: they are obligatory or desirable, and haram or undesirable

    Applications of Injunctions (فروعات)

The religion and its rituals are the same. they never evolve. People may differ in their understanding of the position of a ritual and in their different applications which are not mentioned in Quran and Sunnah and comes up in new situations. for example all agree what is the right way to divorce. but what if someone violates the proper procedure, here comes the problem of understanding and application. here scholars may differ with each other but the actual law of talaq is never disputed. They may differ about a ritual that it is obligatory or not, but they do not dispute its existence as a ritual.

some times difference occurs due to over legislation like reciting or not reciting Fatiah behind imam was never discussed by the prophet. So this should not be a problem for the Muslims. People should be left to their discretion. but when a scholar tried to specify a thing which is not specified by God and his prophet, then unnecessarily a problem occurs.
