  • Delaying Sehri And Iftar Time Because Of Medical Condition

Posted by Rabia Khan on April 6, 2022 at 9:00 pm

If I have a medical condition where I can only fast if I have enough water intake and for some reason, I wake up late for Sehri, is it possible that I close my Sehri 20/30 minutes late and to make up for that I eat my iftar 20/30 minutes. Just to clarify, I don’t plan to do this daily but in exceptional circumstances, if I come across a situation like this, is it permissible to delay both the timings for myself?

It is not permissible to change or alter the time or day of a ritual on your own, unless Shariah mentions it. Shariah did give concession to keep fast in some other days for certain reason, but it did not allow to alter the time of fast.
