Assalamualaikum
Is the term Ahl e Kitab coined by Quran or was it present before that?
And secondly if i am right that after conquering Persia (maybe), the order for zimmis (Ahl e Kitab) was applied on zoroastrians. If that is right, then why?

As per my understanding, it has been used by Quran in this sense as a terminology.
