If one makes tawbah for a mistake and ends up doing it again. And this cycle continues , a point comes where one feels numb and the tongue utters the words of seeking forgiveness but the heart doesn’t seem to really feel it. Why is it so? Should one just stop Asking for forgiveness because it seems insincere. How does Allah Tallah percieves such a person? Does he think the person is fake, superficial and deceitful?

It is to be decided by God in the light of his absolute knowledge that the person was really sincere but weak in his determination or fake and self deceived.

It is for the salvation of man to make sincere repentance and firm abstinence for the sins. When he abstain from the major sins his minor sins are forgiven. But if he commits major sins his minor sins too are added to make his case worse.
