Assalamualaikum
Keen to know Ghamidi sahab’s understanding of Islam on this. Like many Muslims come to Sweden and Muslims have their own values etc and they don’t want to leave those values. But now a days, a new law is being applied with the name of “hedersförtryck” meaning “oppression of honor”. Like there are good points also in this but some points that (if i have understood it right) that you can’t stop your children from meeting friends, sex before marriage or having that relations. If you say, you can get punishment. Now, there are also Islamic revolutionary organizations in Sweden, who arrange lectures etc and they have influence also. In this situation on what basis and how much their law should be accepted. Like if it’s accepted wholly then parents’ control is finished and children can get in anything?

To deal with the adult children is not the force even in Islam , but conversation. Muslims are supposed to teach their kids their values and make them understand the inherent wisdom of Islam and the purpose it is sent that the people are answerable to God in the hereafter.
Unless the Muslims satisfy their kids’ intellect they can’t make them realize why Islam abhors fornication and other unruly sexual activities.
So this law makes no difference in the role of Muslim parents. They are not supposed to control their adult kids, they can’t. They need to talk sense with them in the perspective of Islamic world view. they need to educate themselves first why Islam does not allow free sex or alcohol etc.
