His mission was to complete the argument (Itmam ul Hujjah) on bani Israel and also declare the coming of the Holy prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

And as a result Bani Israel got punishment, but did Esa AS’ companions got reward in this world as Sahaba RA got?

There reward was to relieve them from the scourge of God going to befall on Bani Israel. This is the law of God. That they achieved. The rest of their life is according to the circumstances they were in.
