  • Authenticity Of Hadith About Hazrat Fatima (R.A) And Awrah

In his video, Javed Ahmad Ghamidi saahb said that the minimum awrah of women is from her neck to her knee, which she must cover. After this, covering the rest (extending upto wrist, feet, wearing a dupatta over head etc) is better/mustahab but not obligatory.

However, his statement seems to be contradicting with a hadith that is found in Sunan Abu Dawud, which is graded as authentic.

    Narrated Anas ibn Malik:

The Prophet (ﷺ) brought Fatimah a slave which he donated to her. Fatimah wore a garment which, when she covered her head, did not reach her feet, and when she covered her feet by it, that garment did not reach her head. When the Prophet (ﷺ) saw her struggle, he said: There is no harm to you: Here is only your father and slave.

Why was she struggling so much to cover up from her head all the way upto her feet, if covering all of it was not mandatory? Doesn’t this hadith show that covering full body from head to toe is not mustahab but actually obligatory for women, and thus contradict with what Javed Ahmad Ghamidi said regarding awrah?
