Can a software developer or analyst work on a gambling app or for a company that has its own gambling app?

Assalam-o-Alaikam.
I am very sure this is against the guidance of Islam. Participating and supporting is forbidden for any activities that are forbidden in Islam.

The actual prohibition is that of doing gambling oneself and logic dictates that promoting such an act should also not be done through business activities, as we’re supporting something we consider Haram and are infact in a position to not do it at the same time (e.g. being an employer). Such an act, if done, will be considered sinful and the gravity of the sin may vary depending on the nature of act and the circumstances in which that act is being done.
The situation will dilute if one is an employee tasked with creating such an App. and has no discretion to choose otherwise but his major work relates to halal activities or if one being an employer or an employee resides in a country where gambling is considered legal and the primary activity of the business is not Haram in itself (e.g. software development). But It is recommended to avoid that too, if possible.
