  • Is Impurity The Only Reason Related To Menses?

I had a confusion regarding something, Ghamidi Sahab stated that for Salah, whenever Allah calls, you must answer. If you can’t stand, sit, if you can’t sit, then while laying. Similarly if water is not available, do tayammum. Basically answer the Salah no matter what. And in one video, he also said that even if you have a bleeding wound that’s bandaged then your wudu is still valid, so pray.

So keeping this in mind, the question is, why can’t women during their periods, also pray? (and I guess also fast/tawaf?) Because a call from Allah must always be answered, right? Are there other reasons that made Allah stop them from these acts of worship during this state?

    Thank you.

I think a little more elaboration is needed. The explanation given in video would be satisfactory if it was possible for men to also reach a similar level of impurity and hence they would be forbidden to worship as well but it seems that’s not the case. The situation is unique to women, so like why did Allah allow women to lose basic level of taharat? It could have been said that “Oh, it’s difficult for you to stay purified all the time in this condition which is out of your control, just do ghusl once and you are good in a same way as a person who can’t control his bladder to do wuzu once and they are good enough for worship.”

Could it be said that women are ordered to stop salah/fasting/tawaf in this condition as a form of worship? That Allah wants this abstinence so it can be symbolized that taharat is very important in Islam?

The situation is unique to women because their biological construct is different to men and Sharia gave due regard to this reality.

Had Shariat not given any directive in this regard, scholars would have done ijtihad in this regard as well, the way they do for a sick person having incontinence problem, for example. But since women make up more or less half of the population and they have to experience this situation once every month unlike comparatively few medical cases of permanent bladder problem, therefore, this matter was taken up by sharia and explicit ruling was given. And when we try to understand this directive in relationship with spirit of the religion, the buck stops at Taharat (Tazkiya).

No it is not a form of worship and yes, this underscores the importance of Taharat in addition to it being an actual criteria for success in the eyes of God.
