Hadith On Dog Howling During Azan
Salam, can anyone please say if the hadith on dogs howling during the azan ( found in Sunan Abu Dawood) , authentic in terms of chain of transmission or not? It is often cited as an explanation for the phenomenon of Dogs howling during azan but there could be another reason that dogs mistake azan as siren call from other dogs ( especially when they grow old). So i wanted to see if this hadith is sound or not, especially the reference to Satan running away on the heels and the dog seeing it and howling makes me sceptical about the origin of the hadith?
