  • Reciting Fateha Behind Imam

AoA. I have been listening from many scholars on youtube that in farz namaz’s third and 4th rakat, soorat fateha is not wajib. You can only stand for few seconds staying quite, or do some tasbeeh or if u want you can recite soorat fateha. Is this correct???

No namaz without fateha fatha is farz and after fateha other portion of Quran may not be recited but according to fiqa hanfi following lmam no need to recite fateha

Behind Imam, when Imam is reciting loudly, then only listening to Fateha and part of Quran afterward will suffice.

In case Imam is silent, one should recite both Fateha and a part of Quran afterward. If one opts to recite Fateha only, that is fine too.

Listening and reading of Quran are the same thing, but in silent rakahs, since one is not listening to Quran, therefore, one has to recite it.

    Please see for details:

AoA. I think i could not asked my question clearly. May i ask it again??? IF A MAN IS PRAYING NAMAZ (FARZ NAMAZ) OF 4 RAKAT THEN IT IS SAID THAT IN 3RD AND 4TH RAKAT, EVEN SOORAT FATIHA IS NOT WAJIB ONE ONLY STAND FOR FEW MOMENTS OR SAY SOME TASBEEH OR SAY SOORAT FATHIA. IN FIRST 2 RAKAAT SOORAT FATIHA IS MANDATORY. Plz clarify if this is ok???

In the 3rd and 4th rakats (whether praying individually or in Jamat) one should recite both Fateha and a part of Quran afterward.

If you want to study this issue in detail, please refer to the following thread:

IT IS THE CASE WHEN HE/SHE IS NOT PRAYING IN JAMAAT. MEANS HE/SHE IS PRAYING INDIVIDUAL NAMAZ ALONE.

    REGARDS
