Marriage And Parents Responsibility
Is it ‘responsibility’ on parents to make their kids marry. Here I see it’s a belief found in muslims that they can’t even perform Hajj before all of their kids are married infront of them, ofcourse by parent’s wish for whom to marry. Is this attitude right or even Islamic? Is marriage a personal decision made by the person himself or it is supposed to be taken by parents? Here people consider their children’s marriage as their own responsibility which they have to fulfill before death. What is the principle in this. Thanks in advance sirs

There is no ruling regarding whether it is the parents’ responsibility or not, however, it is their social responsibility. If children depend upon them, they are responsible for their marriage too. A man should have some valid reason for not fulfilling his or her social responsibility they will be answerable to God for the responsibility they have.
However, marriage is essentially a contract between a man and a woman and nothing can be done without their consent in this regard.
