    As’salamualaikum,

Taliban ideologies can be traced back to Darululoom Deoband and Deobandi Madrassah movement (DMM) ideologies in Shah Waliullah (rh).

    Reference attached.

    My question is:

    1. How can shah waliullah (rh) called a great scholar when he is the ideological father of DMM & Taliban ?

    2. DMM focus is more in countering the “urf” even if it is allowed in hanafi fiqh. They have to use weak hadiths (Tablighi Jammat) or use force and fear to change intellectual people perception of reality (Taliban).

What does ghamidi sir school say about urf which is part of early hanafi fiqh. ?

    Jazakallahu Khair.

@UmerQureshi sir, let me know if the below statements are valid –

Which ideas of british colonialism where the deoband against ?

The Deoband Madrassah movement was against many of the ideas and practices of British colonialism that were seen as a threat to traditional Islamic values and practices in India. Some of the key ideas and practices that the Deoband Madrassah movement was against include:

Western education: The British colonial government introduced a new system of Western education in India that emphasized science, reason, and secularism. The Deoband Madrassah movement was against this form of education because it was seen as a threat to traditional Islamic values and practices.

Christianity: The British colonial government also promoted Christianity in India, and many Indian Christians occupied positions of power in the colonial government. The Deoband Madrassah movement was against the spread of Christianity because it was seen as a threat to traditional Islamic values and practices.

Secularism: The British colonial government promoted a secular approach to governance in India that separated religion from politics. The Deoband Madrassah movement was against this form of governance because it believed that Islamic values and principles should guide political and social life in India.

Western culture: The British colonial government also introduced Western cultural practices and norms to India, such as dress, music, and dance. The Deoband Madrassah movement was against these practices because they were seen as a threat to traditional Islamic values and practices.

All these points seem valid to the best of my knowledge.
