  • Is Ghusl Compulsory After Getting In Contact With Impure Bedsheet?

Sometimes when I get sleep paralysis my mind is filled gets filled with impure thoughts that cause my body to react. Unfortunately, it’s hard for me to stop my body from reacting as I cannot move. I’m pretty helpless. I got sleep paralysis last night and woke up and did ghusl. I did not change my bedsheets as I didn’t think there were any stains, however, after my shower I noticed two very tiny small drops of stains. I’m not even sure if the stains were from what occurred or if they’re from something else, it’s hard to tell. I didn’t have time to change my sheets and do ghusul again as I had work.

I am fasting today and I’m worried because I already missed the fajr and now I’m going to end up missing the duhur which I pray at work. I’m also worried that I won’t have time to go home and do ghusl again before the asr ends. I’m worried because I can’t pray without doing ghusl. Does touching the stains on the bedsheet make me impure? Am I not able to pray at all until I do ghusl again? How does this affect my fast?

I’ve been fasting the past week now and my sleep paralysis has increased tenfold. I already did ghusl last night and then once more this morning and now I might have to do yet another one. Quite frankly I’m getting tired.

You can offer all your prayers after your first Ghusal unless you experience a Ghusl necessitating event afterward. Merely coming in contact with your impure bedsheet does in no way necessitate Ghusal for you and neither does this effect your fasting. Instances where Ghusal becomes obligatory before Salah are mentioned in the following response:

As for the bedsheet and clothes, unless you are certain about the impurity on your bedsheet, you can ignore mere doubts. And if you are certain then you can change your bedsheet and/or your clothes. However, this has nothing to do with Ghusal.
