Prophet Sending For The Marriage Of Julaibib RA
It is narrated in Masnad e Ahmed 10810 that Julaybib (Radhi Allaahu Anhu) was companion of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), he was ugly and no girl wanted to marry him.
It is said that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) sent a marriage proposal to a Ansar girl on his behalf.

Nothing can be said with certainty. An incident with similar story but in regards to Sa’d Al Aswad As Sulami instead of Julaybib has been reported by Imam Ibn ‘Adiy Al Kamil, vol. 9 pg. 255-259 and Al Isabah, vol. 4 pg. 310/311) which was declared a fabrication by Imam Hakim and consequently cited by Ibn-e-Hajar.

The chain of this narration is sahih on conditions of Bukhari and Muslim.
This incident is reported via two different chains and there is no mention of ugliness of Sahabi Julaibib (rta). He used to be a non-serious youngster in medina and people used to repulse him. So, Prophet Muhammad (sws) helped him get married and later on, he sacrificed his life in a war while fighting polytheists and Prophet Muhammad (sws) praised him and held his dead body in his arms.

The chain of Sabit to Momar is weak (‘Daef’) but because of the other strong chain, it is categorized as Sahih or can also be categorized as Sahih li Ghairihi (Sahih because of other/external evidence).
Shiekh Shuaib Al-Arnaut writes in his commentary of Musnad Ahmed bin Hambal:
إسناده صحيح على شرط الشيخين
“The chain is Sahih on the condition of Shiekhain (Bukhari and Muslim)”.

… ويشهد له حديث أبي برزة الأسلمي…
…“And the hadith of Abu Barzah Al-Aslami testifies to it”…
