    hello there

my question is that does the rewards of a worship or virtue which was lost due to a sin (for example show off done by a person after he did charity, or a prayer). does he get the reward back if he sincerely repents?.

as some scholars say that if someone shows off with a worship, that worship gets invalidated. so the question comes that if a person who shows off for his farz prayer (after he completes it, then later on shows it off), then his prayer would be cancelled. so if he does tawbah, will his reward and obligation be recounted? or he has to make up for his prayer again as it was obligatory prayer

God does not settle such things in a mathematical way. He is just and merciful. He is generous. So if one repents, not only he can get his reward back but also, one’s evil deeds are turned into good ones to reward him more. So you need to understand how God works and behaves with his servants.
