Religion only deals with matters of Tazkiya including Tazkiya of body, food and ethics. In matters of ethics, the principle of prohibition is mentioned in Quran 7:33 (See: Discussion 1749). Therefore, music in itself is not Haram but can be considered Haram in instances where any of the above elements is present in that Music.

As far as Dietary prohibitions are concerned, they work on the principle of Taiyyabaat and Khabaais as mentioned in Quran (See: Discussion 47843 • Reply 47886). Since Alcohol belongs to this category of Khabais because it deprives one of their consciousness thus rendering the human intellect completely ineffective, therefore it is prohibited (For more details: Discussion 51485 AND Discussion 33165).

Running of high emotions has no ethical basis to stand prohibited in isolation, hence not a subject-matter of religion.
