Is mein Ghamidi sahab kehte hain ke sarkashi ko ikhtiyar karne ke baad ek khaas marhale par akar shayateen ko asar andaaz hone ka mauqa milta hai. Kya iska matlab ye hai ke jino mein se shayateen us waqt tak waswasa andazi nahi kar sakte jab tak ke insan khud sarkashi ikhtiyar na kar le?
Lekin ye hadith mulahiza ho:
Abu Huraira reported: Some of the companions came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and they asked him, “We find within ourselves that which is to grievous to speak of.” The Prophet said, “You have indeed found it so?” They said yes. The Prophet said, “That is sincere faith.”

Ghamidi sb is talking about arrogant behaviour. the context is “Once a man becomes arrogant, then God leaves him to be what he wants.”
The devil’s whisper can also come from inside without any external factor. You may find these discussions helpful

Such whispers can arise both from within and from external factors (including influences from both human beings and from jinns/satan). Such whispers/doubts are general in nature and can happen to any human being but in this case, the ultimate decision lies with the human being and no one has power to influence a human being other than these whispers (both internal and external). The Hadith mentioned talks about this very type of whispers which are very natural and can occur to any human being.

There is a separate Sunnat of Allah where Guidance and Error are decided for the human being, based on his own decisions and the resulting attitude because of his decision. If a person decides upon evading this ingrained guidance, refuses to use his intellect, and deliberately deviates from the truth, then in the words of the Quran this is zulm (wronging the soul) and fisq (defiance) and the Almighty never guides a person who continues to wrong his soul and persists in defiance and He leaves him to wander in the darkness of error and misguidance. The consequence of such behaviour is that the obduracy, stubbornness and selfishness of such wrong-doers increase and they are deprived of the ability to think and understand in the right way. A state reaches when the Almighty seals their hearts in retribution of this wrong behavior. It is this very stage when Jinns are also openly allowed to keep that person deviated from the right path.
