    There was a difference of a year between them according to the historical records.

    You can start with short books and then go to detailed ones. History books by Mubashar Nazir, available online. Tarikh e Islam by Moindeen Nadwi, another by Najeeb Akbar Abadi, Tarikh ul Ummat by Aslam Jerajpuri, The spirit of Islam by Ameer Ali, and many others.
