Sir ghamidi says amount of Zakat 2.5% is mentioned in previous scriptures rather than (Quran), while he says the only source of Deen is Muhammad (PUH), how can you explain it … since the amount 2.5 % either can be found in Hadith or in previous scripture can’t we say that Hadith is source of Deen and previous scripture as well.

There are two sources of Deen, the Quran and Sunnah. Sunnah is the practical perpetual sunnah of the prophets, which was revived by the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and transmitted to us from generation to generation with complete consensus. The law of Zakat came from Sunanh. Hadith on the other hand is the reporting by individuals, which cannot become an independent source of Deen. It depends for the confirmation of its reporting on the Quran and Sunnah.

The citation of the previous divine books is not the original foundation to prove a sunnah, It is a secondary supporting citation for sunnah which actually came to us from the prophet.
