    Asselamu aleyküm,

Will a person who drinks Alcohol or wears silk will not get it in hereafter, Doesn’t these hadiths goes against the sense and logic, or am I misunderstanding the contexts of these Ahadiths? Just because, of these sins Allah will deprived his believers from getting these blessings of Jannah?

P.S:- I already know that wearing silk nowadays, will not be regarded as sin because of not being fall under arrogance and pride, in modern-days.

Ibn ‘Umar may Allaah be pleased with him reported that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: “He who drank wine in the world and did not repent would be deprived of it (the pure drink) in the Hereafter.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Abu Sa‘eed may Allaah be pleased with him reported that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: “Whoever wears silk in this world shall not wear it in the Hereafter, even if he entered Paradise; the dwellers of Paradise will wear it, except for him.” [Saheeh Ibn Hiban and Musnad Abu Daawood At-Tayalisi]

    Kindly clarify.

Since wearing silk had been a symbol of pride and arrogance then, it was prohibited like wearing gold by men was prohibited. It is stated in a hadith that a man with a bit of pride will not be allowed to enter paradise. So this is not just wearing such things are sin, but what they symbolize is the main cause. On the same ground, we discourage wearing any symbols which indicate pride and arrogance.

Drinking alcohol dismantles sensibility and intellect. A man without sensibility and active intellect is not a human who is the addressee of God. Man deprives himself of the exalted position of being the addressee of God, nor can he purify himself which is the purport of religion. So it is not a minor sin, but rather a denial of religion.
