Can zakat be invested and the return of the investment be paid to deserving. For example, you buy gurantee income bonds with zakat money and use the income of bonds to pay deserving.

However, it needs to be accessed separately whether those bonds have any element of interest in them or not. For instance, there is certain objection on government savings schemes and similar investments.
