“Then and there Zachariah prayed to his Lord, saying, “My Lord! Grant me—by your grace—righteous offspring. You are certainly the Hearer of ˹all˺ prayers.”

In this verse Zakariya A.S prayed at the same place where Maryam A.S used to get food from Allah SWT.

My friend said since Maryam A.S was wali, Zakariya A.S prayed to Allah at her location (where she used to get food from Allah SWT) so that Allah SWT accepts his dua and Allah SWT accepted his dua.

Does this mean that there is concept of Wasila in Islam and that praying at places where noble people live/pray is recommended to get dua accepted.

      3:37

Right graciously did her Lord accept her: He made her grow in purity and beauty: To the care of Zakariya was she assigned. Every time that he entered (Her) chamber to see her, He found her supplied with sustenance. He said: “O Mary! Whence (comes) this to you?” She said: “From Allah: for Allah Provides sustenance to whom He pleases without measure.”

      3:38

There did Zakariya pray to his Lord, saying: “O my Lord! Grant unto me from Thee a progeny that is pure: for Thou art He that heareth prayer!

3:39While he was standing in prayer in the chamber, the angels called unto him: “Allah doth give thee glad tidings of Yahya, witnessing the truth of a Word from Allah, and (be besides) noble, chaste, and a prophet,- of the (goodly) company of the righteous.”

The question is Zakariya AS prayed in the chamber of Maryam AS for the child. 3:37 to 3:38

Allah accepted his dua when he was praying in the chamber. 3:39

Which chamber is being talked in 3:39. Is it same as that mentioned in 3:37 to 3:38?

Huna lika means “then and there” which specifies “at that instant”.

Molana Islahi sb writes followin in his tafsir

As for chambers, Quran speak in tone of general chamber not a specific one
