It is about manners. One looks not good while yawing therefore it is discouraged not the cover mouth while yawing. The diction is religious in the sayings of the prophet for such things. For example, when Moses mistakenly killed an Egyptian he said, this act is from Satan. The same can be understood in the case of yawning.
