    Assalam-O-Alaikum

I would like to hear ghamdi sahib’s views on the topic of how we can understand homosexuality with respect to predestination. If these human beings were predestined to be like this and Allah has knowledge of the choices he/ is goin to make then how would they be judged? Is it by the choice of path they take . Whether they give in to their desire or curb their desire and follow the right path?

Please shed some light on this very important topic challenging many a parents

    Thank you and Jazakallah

This world is created on the principle of Tests and Trials which requires this life to be lived according to the principles and within bounds of sharia to achieve Tazkiya in this world, which would guarantee success in the hereafter.

One part of our existence is predestined in matters like our place of birth, our parents, how we look including any disabilities at birth and certain innate skills etc. The other part of our existence includes freewill given to us where we decide which path to follow on the basis of our intellect, knowledge and provided resources; our accountability lies in this domain of existence. Since conditions of every human being vary w.r.t knowledge, skills and resources from the each other, therefore every human being will be held accountable after giving due regard to these constraints as per Quran 5:48. All of this is already in the knowledge of God, but his knowledge should not be confused with predestination because God has not allowed his knowledge to inflence our actions which we are otherwise required to base on our freewill.

As far as homosexuality is concerned, there is no solid proof that it is something which can be categorized as genetic or belonging to predestination portion, but even if it is, then it is considered a test for a human being similar to a test which a heterosexual person goes through who never gets a chance to marry because of lack of resources for example. Both these people are being tested w.r.t the path they choose when faced with these sexual desires. It is a test of freewill, not of predestination in reality.

At the end, every person will be judged on the basis of his knowldge, resources and the constraints that he faced and this applies equally to every person on this earth.

Ghamidi Sahab has not commented on this topic separately but shared below are separate discussions of Ghamidi Sahab on the topic of predestination/destiny and homosexuality, which when watched in tandem will give a better picture of his holistic vewpoint in this regard.
