Family Planning And Choice Of Parenthood
What are some of the Islamic resources or references that highlight the concept of respect for personal choice particularly regarding decisions related to family planning and parenthood? I am seeking citations from Quran, Ahadith, or views of Islamic Scholars.
To clarify, can a husband and a wife choose to have no kids because they simply do not yearn for parenthood. They have ample means to provide for the child, if they had one, but do not want the responsibility of parenting one.
