  Status Of Adopted Child

  Assalam-o-alaikum!

  My wife and I want to adopt a girl (child) as we have two sons. What will be her status when she becomes an adult? Will she be a Mehram for me and our sons? If not then how does Islam encourage adoption of orphans?
