Joining US Military
Assalam alaikum,
Our children who are born in the US often consider and talk about joining the US military for a number of reasons. They are not necessarily attracted to the combat units or combat missions of the US military but are attracted to the career opportunities, leadership skills, science and engineering careers as well as the financial assistance that some of the military academies (like air force academy and naval academy) offer. What is your opinion about the of joining such organizations from an Islamic perspective.

A Muslim can join any service under a Muslim or a non-Muslim government with this caution that he is not supposed to do anything immoral or unethical or against the divine law.
