Using The Phrases "alaihissalam" Or "karramallahuwajhu" For Hazrat Ali (rta)
Asselamu aleykum,
Many Sunnis considers it wrong to use the honorific phrase “alaihissalam” (peace be upon him) for Sahabahs (rta). But, Imam Bukhari (ra) also used the phrase for Hazrat Ali (rta), Hazrat Fatima (rta), and Hazrat Husayn (rta). So can we use this phrase for the companions of our Holy Prophet (sav)? Also, can we use the phrase “karamallahu wajhu” for Hazrat Ai (rta)?
