    Is writing off tax by claiming business and other expenses haraam? For example, Canada has 50% Capital Gains tax, so is it allowed to write off some part of it by adding to expenses such as home office that doesn’t require receipt?

    It is generally permissible to exploit the loophoes in the taxation laws, however they should not be exploited using immoral means like lying, deception or fraud etc. Therefore, as long as the expense is genuine, such a deduction can be made.
