اُستاذ کا موقف ہے کہ پورا دین قرآن و سنت میں ہے اور سنت ہم تک اجماع و تواتر سے منتقل ہوئی ہے یعنی چودہ سو سال سے مسلمان اُس پر عمل کرتے آئے ہیں
لیکن کسی سُنت کا متواتر ہونا کیسے ثابت ہو گا
یعنی آج سے پانچ سو سال قبل کیا اس سنت پر سارے مسلمان عمل کرتے تھے یا نہیں اُس کے لیے روایات کو دیکھنا پڑے گا
اُن سے ہی پتا چلے گا کہ ہر زمانے میں اس پر عمل ہوتا آیا ہے
تو اِس حساب سے روایات بھی دین کا حصہ ہی ہیں کیوں کہ اُنکے بغیر سُنت کا متواتر ثابت ہونا ممکن نہیں
اگر کتب روایات ہی نا ہوتیں سِرے سے سُنت کے متواتر ہونے کے مُتعلق بُہت سارے اشکالات پیدا ہوتے جو کبھی رفع نہ ہو سکتے

whats the name of the book that keeps track of every men that has been circumcised in last 1400+ years, on daily bases and probably every hour?

Sunnah is present in Amli tawatur (perpetual adherence) and Ijma of Muslims (consensus) which can be traced back to Sahaba (who acquired it from Prophet and transmitted it to next generation with their consensus). Usually there is no need to trace Sunnah back to Sahaba because there lies no doubt in its existence and its religious status. If somehow a need arises to trace it back, then this can be done through books of ‘fiqh‘ which are documenting ijma and tawatur of every time period. Akhbar-i-Ahad (Hadith corpus or riwayaat) do contain application of both Sunnah and Quranic directives, but they are not source for either of them – but rather a record of the application.
