Is it halal (permissible) to eat locusts? Please explain in the light of the Quran and Hadith.

According to the Quran Tiyyibaat, good or pure things, are halal, and Khabaais, bad or impure things are haram. It is left to the discretion of human nature to decide what is Tayyab and what is Khabees. The Quran mentions only those major foods or animals, which one may take as tayyab but they are not. The rest is human discretion which may differ in some cases. Locusts have been consumed by Arabs so it is halal. The prophet did not object to it.
