If you read Surah al-Baqarah it tells that the dialogue between God and angels took place first in which He announced that he was going to make a ruler of the land, then the event to sajda to Adam by all the angels took place and the devil disobeyed, then Adam was sent to the garden to dwell for a while. Then Adam tasted the forbidden fruit at the temptation of the devil and then he was expelled from the garden.
