  Special Supplication During Friday Salah (Qanut-e-Nazla)

  As Salaam O Alaikum,

  Brother, one day I happen to offer Friday prayer at an Ahle Hadees mosque. During the first raqat after recital of Surah Fatihah and another Surah, the Imam and all those behind him raised their hands and offered a long supplication, before going for Ruku.

  I would like to know whether such acts are according to established Sunnah.

  I would also like to know whether offering supplication with hands raised, after obligatory prayers is bidah. If possible kindly quote the source(s) of your response.

  These practices were adopted by the prophet on some occasions. This is not biddah. It might be the prayer of Qanut e Nazila.

    And what about supplication after fard prayer? Is this also not bidah?
