Concept Of Resemblance In Islam
Asselamu aleykum,
Is the concept resemblance compatible with Islam? Please note that, I am not asking about genetic resemblance, which is the scientific truth. But rather a kind of spiritual resemblance or a kind of parallelity.
I’ve heard many times that Holy Prophet (sav) said to Hadhrat Ali (rta) that “Will you not be pleased that you will be to me Harun (as) to Musa (as)? But there will be no prophet after me.” And prophet (sav) also drawed a parallel between Hadhrat Imam al-Hasan (rta) and Hadhrat Imam Husayn (rta) to Hadhrat Ismail (as) and Hadhrat Ishaq (as).
Furthermore, Imam Hasan (rta) and Imam Husayn (rta) are considered as the successors of Hadhrat Ali (rta) in his knowledge and wisdom. While, another son, Hadhrat Abbas ibn Ali (rta) is considered as the successor of Hadhrat Ali (rta) in his power, bravery, and strength. That’s why he later came to be known as Haydar II. And they really resembled Hadhrat Ali (rta) in these things.
Kindly clarify this in the context of Quran and Sunnah, Thanks.
