Sahih Bukhari 7422 – Allah's Mercy Prevailing Over His Wrath
There is a hadis in bukari, muslim and other books which says ‘ when allah created the universe, he wrote on his throne, my mercy prevails over my wrath’
Is this hadis sahih and should be believed in? And is its translation also sahih?

This is an authentic hadith of Bukhari 7422. It goes in conformity with what God has told us about Himself in the Quran. Allah says:
قُل لِّمَن مَّا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ قُل لِّلَّهِ ۚ كَتَبَ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِ الرَّحْمَةَ ۚ لَيَجْمَعَنَّكُمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ ۚ الَّذِينَ خَسِرُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
Ask them: To whom belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth? Say: To God alone.[14] He has made mercy mandatory on Himself.[15] After gathering all of you, He shall definitely take you to the Day of Judgement about which there is no doubt.[16] Only those who have inflicted themselves with loss do not believe in it. (6: 12)
To introduce Himself He chose the attributes of Rehman and Raheem. He is always ready to forgive. He does not make haste in punishing.
