Does Allah Talk To A Person Who Is Not A Prophet Or A Messenger?
Is the direct communication between Allah and a person only for prophets or is it possible that when a person has passed intense tests and trials and gotten to such a rank that Allah swt talks to him?

The scheme for this world is to believe in Ghaib, the Unseen. The only exception is the prophets who received messages from God to communicate to the people. God talked to non-prophets only when a need for prophets demanded like talking to the mother of the prophet Isa.
Besides these, God does not talk to non-prophets. After the declaration of end of prophethood, see verse 33:40, there is no room for any chance that God may talk to a person.
